This term was first used in the XVIII century as the german version of the italian notturno. It refers to mainly for works performed outdoors and late in the night.
Nachtmusic’s additive form, uses a single gesture, a guitar tremolo which is reinterpreted in many ways, always expectant, producing a tense calm with intriguing implications.
For this piece I use samples from a recording session with guitarrist Guido Sánchez and the geraman text, Stufen is from Herman Hesse and read by Teresa Kammerer.
